Gabrielle is a member of the Wampanoag Nation. She grew up in Newfoundland, where she has close ties with the Mi’kmaq community, for whom she is a drum carrier. She is currently completing her doctorate in Archaeology at the University of Oxford, focusing on Indigenous video games and the protection of traditional knowledge.
