Johanne Lavoie is a Partner at McKinsey & Company. After a decade of advising global organizations going through large-scale performance improvements, Johanne became fascinated by the human dimension in disruptive change.
Combining more than 20 years of pragmatic business experience with expertise in developmental psychology, mindfulness, and organizational and leadership theories, Johanne now focuses her work on helping leaders thrive in an ever more complex world. Keeping an eye on execution and impact, Johanne balances creativity and practical applications to help clients navigate their toughest leadership challenges. She is as comfortable coaching executives or their teams as she is delivering leadership trainings or keynote speeches.
As a thought leader within McKinsey’s Leadership Academy, she is responsible for many of the institution’s most innovative programs designed to help individuals lead transformational change with greater agility. She also co-authored the book Centered Leadership – Leading with Clarity, Purpose, and Impact, published in March 2014.
Johanne joined McKinsey in 1993 and frequently travels to serve clients across a wide range of industries and cultures. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a BEng Honors in electrical engineering from McGill University, and a coaching certification from the International Coach Federation (ICF) as well as several other certifications in a range of developmental theories and practices. She also acts as faculty at the Banff Leadership Centre. At home in Canmore, Alberta, where she now lives with her husband and two daughters, Johanne draws her inspiration from venturing in the Rocky Mountains and from her study of timeless wisdom.
